Roscoe & Ruby
Meet Gus! He's a 6yr old black and tan dobe looking for his furever home. Gus is calm and easy going, with a bit of timidity. He's good with most dogs except overly dominant, pushy males. He does have some leash aggression that will need to be worked on. Due to his timid nature, we're not going to adopt him out to a family with small children. **We do not discuss individual dogs with applicants until completion of the adoption process. Please submit a completed application: http://dobermanrescueco.org/adopt/forms/. We never consider you applying for a particular dog. The more open you are to gender, color and age, the more likely you are to find a dog with us. We want homes that accept that they are rescuing a dog and are willing to work with the dog to make him a good citizen. We will also schedule a home visit. Once approved to adopt from us, we will contact you about suitable dogs and put you in contact with the foster parents. We get dogs into rescue on a regular basis and they are placed with previously approved adopters who have been waiting for their forever dog. It is best not to focus on any specific dog until you have been approved. We welcome your interest in a dog that may steal your heart but please remember that the dogs posted on our site today will most likely go to homes of applicants that applied weeks ago.**
I wasn’t looking for a Doberman or even for a dog when I was approached by a friend telling me about a puppy named Roscoe. He was living with Chuck at the Doberman Rescue group and was about 9 months old. I took my family to visit him and instantly fell in love with his cute face (see the pictures). He was a great dog from day one but a moderate energy dog and even with 2 kids to play with him he never seemed to slow down. I decided to get another Doberman because I had become so fond of the breed during the previous 6 months. I looked at a few other Dobermans but fell in love with Ruby (previous name was Stormy). Her color was washed out from being left outside for the first part of her life but she was so happy. She came right up to me and just wanted love! She never made it to meet Chuck; I took her before she was even put in the rescue. She has made significant progress with her training and she is such a lover! She was definitely meant to be with me! I have two kids and I have not had one little issue with either dog around my kids and the dogs are very protective of them. I would highly recommend Chuck and the Doberman Rescue Group to adopt from!
