Kieva, my sr. pal
Meet Gus! He's a 6yr old black and tan dobe looking for his furever home. Gus is calm and easy going, with a bit of timidity. He's good with most dogs except overly dominant, pushy males. He does have some leash aggression that will need to be worked on. Due to his timid nature, we're not going to adopt him out to a family with small children. **We do not discuss individual dogs with applicants until completion of the adoption process. Please submit a completed application: http://dobermanrescueco.org/adopt/forms/. We never consider you applying for a particular dog. The more open you are to gender, color and age, the more likely you are to find a dog with us. We want homes that accept that they are rescuing a dog and are willing to work with the dog to make him a good citizen. We will also schedule a home visit. Once approved to adopt from us, we will contact you about suitable dogs and put you in contact with the foster parents. We get dogs into rescue on a regular basis and they are placed with previously approved adopters who have been waiting for their forever dog. It is best not to focus on any specific dog until you have been approved. We welcome your interest in a dog that may steal your heart but please remember that the dogs posted on our site today will most likely go to homes of applicants that applied weeks ago.**
A couple of years ago I was looking for a doggie pal. I’d had some great Dobies in the past. I found Kieva on Doberman Rescue of Colorado. Her age, seven at that time, was a tad disconcerting, but after talking with Chuck, we agreed to have a ‘meet-greet’. I ended up adopting her, and she was one of the sweetest girls ever. We came to terms right away (i.e., she was the boss, haha). All my friends and family loved her so much right from the start. I need to thank Chuck and his wonderful staff for giving Kieva and me the opportunity to to spend countless hours of fun and understanding together. Thanks Chuck!
