Hello, I'm Bonnie Neuman and I have loved
all kinds of animals for as long as I can remember. I
have actually been rescuing animals (mostly cats) on my
own for years. Most have remained with my family, while
a few have ended up 20 with friends - these guys just
have a way of finding me! (Maybe it's my license
plate - randomly issued - that begins with PAW?) Then,
several years ago I met Chuck Vaile and my rescue work
became official.
I was in fact introduced to Chuck by a
beautiful, black & tan, floppy eared dog named Roger. A
friend of my daughters needed to find a new home for his
young dog (originally adopted from The Dumb Friends
League) due to a move out of state and a new
living arrangement. I offered to help, found Doberman
Rescue listed in the White Pages, and Chuck ended up
placing Roger with a wonderful, new owner who recently
told me what an amazing animal he is and that she is so
grateful to have him in her life. After Roger led me to
Doberman Rescue, I quite naturally became more active in
the organization.
Since my schedule is somewhat
unconventional and I travel periodically, able to plug
in as needed when I'm in town. (Of course, the first dog
I ever fostered never did leave and will be with me
forever!) I take great personal satisfaction in my work
with Dobie Rescue, whether I'm driving to the vet,
visiting a shelter, or fostering a needy dog.
